Would you like to take Driver's Ed this summer? Check out the flyer below for times and particulars.
Students are able to sign up now to co-enroll for next school year. (Co-enrolled means taking a class online rather than at Newsome.). All of our course offerings for co-enrollment are open through Friday, September 2. Additionally, we have several courses that we will be offering on a "rolling", or continuous, basis. These courses are perfect for students in need of elective and virtual credits and are the following:
Anthropology Parenting Skills Social Media Peer Counseling Driver Education Psychology II Early Childhood Education Sports Marketing Holocaust Sociology We will be taking enrollments for these courses through the end of January. Dear Families,
We have great news to share about your student’s upcoming graduation ceremony! We will once again record each commencement and post it to our YouTube Channel, 24-48 hours after the ceremony for friends and family to view. This year, we are also trying something new – a live webcast of graduation! Anyone unable to attend can view graduation live, online. Go to our website, www.sdhc.k12.fl.us, and type "Go GradStream" in the search engine to find the link to view. Remember, the stream will only be live during the actual ceremony. We hope that adding this feature will make it easier for friends and family who may be unable to attend. Enjoy! Students are receiving programming sheets to complete for the 2016-17 school year. Guidance is distributing the forms through math classes, and teachers are collecting the forms back. We will resume meeting with students after exams, starting on 1/25/2016.
Students who are not taking a math class at Newsome will be called individually to guidance for the form and to meet with their counselor. College Board has announced that the paper version of the latest PSAT will be available on January 29. We will distribute to students in homeroom soon after that date.
